About The Kisan Call Center (KCC)
Agricultural is the major part of the Indian economy. To improve the agricultural standard the Indian government department Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (Krishi Evam Kisan Kalyan Mantralaya) has run the Kisan Call Center. The Kisan Call Center main aim is to enhance agricultural and to share knowledge among farmers about systematic farming techniques and proper use of technology.
The Indian Government starts this project on January 21, 2004. Today, the KCC is working in 14 different locations and covering all the States and UTs. The KCC services have available from 6.00 am to 10.00 pm on all seven days of the week at each KCC location. The KCC has working in 22 regional languages. The all KCC officer (Farm Tele Advisor) has highly qualified in Agriculture or allied (Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Poultry, Bee-keeping, Sericulture, Aquaculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Marketing, Biotechnology, Home Science etc.
A farmer from any City/State in Indian can contact the Kisan Call Center by dialing the above-mentioned toll-free number and solve their farming-related problems/queries. The KCC operator\Farm Tele Advisor will attempt to answer the problems/queries of the farmers immediately. In case the Farm Tele Advisor at the Call Center is not able to solve the farmer’s query immediately, the call will be forwarded to higher agricultural specialists.
